A. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

• Scan Records: When you scan a barcode or QR code, the decoded text (e.g., URL, Wi-Fi credentials, contact card, product code), date and time, code format, and optional custom notes or categories are stored locally in an encrypted Room SQLite database on your device.
• Generated Barcodes: Data you input to generate QR codes or barcodes (e.g., custom Wi-Fi network details, text notes, email addresses) is processed entirely locally on-device.
• User Preferences: Dark/Light/System theme choices, haptic feedback toggle, audio beep toggle, auto-copy setting, and camera reticle configurations are saved in Android SharedPreferences on your device.

B. Information We DO NOT Collect

• We do not record, store, or stream your camera video feed or photos to any remote server.
• We do not collect your real-time physical GPS location coordinates.
• We do not harvest your phone contacts, browsing history, or personal identifiers.

ScanWiz Pro integrates Google ML Kit Barcode Scanning API and ZXing ("Zebra Crossing").

• 100% On-Device Processing: The visual recognition and mathematical decoding algorithms execute locally on your smartphone processor.
• No Image Uploads: Camera frames captured by the CameraX API are analyzed in memory and discarded in milliseconds. Frames are never cached to persistent storage or transmitted over the internet.
• Multi-Format Support: Local decoders support standard 1D and 2D formats (QR Code, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, ITF).

6. Personal Cloud Storage & Backups

ScanWiz Pro includes an optional Cloud Sync feature designed with user autonomy in mind:

• User-Configured Accounts: The app does not default to any developer or hardcoded account. You can optionally connect your own personal cloud account (such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, or custom storage).
• Private Vault Folder: When enabled, scan backups are saved directly into your personal account's dedicated application vault (e.g., /Google Drive/ScanWiz_Backups/).
• Zero Developer Access: We have no access to your personal cloud storage credentials, tokens, or files. You may disconnect your cloud account or disable auto-sync at any time from the Cloud Sync screen.

To deliver core functionality and sustain free app distribution, ScanWiz Pro incorporates select third-party SDKs:

• Google Play Services & Google ML Kit: Provides on-device barcode vision models. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Displayed solely in the free tier of the application. AdMob may collect pseudonymous advertising identifiers (AAID) and crash telemetry to serve relevant ads according to your device advertising preferences. Users can remove all ads completely by upgrading to ScanWiz Pro.
• Google Play In-App Billing: Handles secure transactions for the Pro upgrade. Payment details (credit card numbers, billing addresses) are handled exclusively by Google Play; ScanWiz Pro never receives or stores payment credentials.

8. Data Retention & Your Deletion Controls

You retain absolute sovereignty over your scan records and generated barcodes:

• Individual Deletion: You can delete any individual scan record directly from the History list with a single tap or swipe.
• Batch Deletion & Clear All: In the Settings menu, tapping "Clear All History" permanently purges all scan records, custom notes, bookmarks, and generator caches from your device immediately.
• Data Portability (CSV Export): You can export your full scan history to a portable CSV spreadsheet file at any time using the "Export Scan History to CSV" button.
• App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application automatically deletes all local app databases, cache files, and preferences managed by the Android operating system.

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California), you are entitled to specific rights regarding your personal information:

• Right to Know & Access: You have the right to know what data is stored. Because ScanWiz Pro is offline-first, you can view all data directly within the app's History screen.
• Right to Deletion: You can purge all data at any moment using the "Clear All History" feature.
• Right to Portability: You can export your data via CSV export anytime.
• No Sale of Personal Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or scan contents to third parties, satisfying California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) requirements.
• Do Not Track (DNT) Signals: ScanWiz Pro does not track users over time across third-party websites or online services.

10. Children's Privacy Protection (COPPA)

ScanWiz Pro is a general-purpose utility application. It is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
