ScratchTopUp Privacy Policy

Developer: Ewiz Technologies

Effective Date: 12 August 2026

Last Updated: 12 August 2026

Ewiz Technologies ("Ewiz Technologies", "we", "us", or "our") operates the ScratchTopUp Android application ("ScratchTopUp" or the "App").

ScratchTopUp allows users to scan airtime scratch-card numbers using the device camera or an existing image, review the detected number, and initiate an airtime top-up through the device's USSD/dialer functionality for supported mobile network operators.

This Privacy Policy explains how ScratchTopUp handles information when you use the App. The core functionality of ScratchTopUp does not require an account, login, or the submission of personal information to Ewiz Technologies.

Important: ScratchTopUp itself does not operate a backend database containing your scratch-card history. However, third-party services integrated into the App, including Google AdMob and Google Play, may process certain information as described below.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

ScratchTopUp does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use its core features.

We do not intentionally request or maintain:

1.2 Scratch-Card Numbers

ScratchTopUp can scan airtime scratch-card numbers. A detected number may temporarily exist in the App's memory while you review, edit, or use it.

If you use the App's history feature, scanned numbers are stored locally on your Android device. ScratchTopUp does not upload this history to an Ewiz Technologies server and Ewiz Technologies does not maintain a remote database of your scanned scratch-card numbers.

1.3 Camera and Images

ScratchTopUp may request camera access to scan physical airtime scratch cards. The App may also allow you to select an existing image stored on your device for scanning.

Images used for scanning are processed for the scanning functionality and are not intentionally uploaded to an Ewiz Technologies server.

2. Local History

ScratchTopUp may provide a history feature that lets you retain previously scanned scratch-card numbers for convenience. This history is stored locally on your device.

You can clear your ScratchTopUp history using the deletion functionality provided in the App. When history is cleared, the corresponding locally stored history is deleted from the App's local storage, subject to normal Android operating-system behavior and any independent backups or copies you may have created outside the App.

Security consideration: Scratch-card numbers may represent monetary value. Treat unused scratch-card numbers as sensitive information and avoid sharing screenshots, backups, or other copies containing them.

3. USSD Functionality

When you choose to top up, ScratchTopUp prepares the applicable USSD code and opens the device's phone dialer with the code populated. The user controls whether to proceed with the USSD request.

The USSD request is then handled through your device and mobile network. Depending on your device, Android version, mobile network, and operator, you may need to manually confirm or initiate the request.

Ewiz Technologies does not control how a mobile network operator processes a USSD request after it leaves the App.

4. Supported Mobile Network Operators

ScratchTopUp is designed to support airtime scratch-card top-ups for:

ScratchTopUp is an independent application developed by Ewiz Technologies. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Ewiz Technologies is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting as an agent for Safaricom, Airtel, or Telkom. Their respective names and trademarks belong to their owners.

5. Advertising

The free version of ScratchTopUp may display advertisements using Google AdMob, a mobile advertising service provided by Google.

Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically process certain information for purposes such as advertising, analytics, security, and fraud prevention. Depending on the applicable configuration and services, this may include:

Google processes information associated with its advertising services according to its applicable privacy practices. For current information about Google Mobile Ads data practices, see Google's Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure documentation.

ScratchTopUp does not use AdMob to intentionally collect or store your scratch-card history in an Ewiz Technologies database.

Advertising Consent

Where required, ScratchTopUp may use Google's consent-management functionality to obtain and manage choices relating to personalized advertising and related processing. More information is available in Google's AdMob privacy documentation.

6. Paid Ad-Free Version

ScratchTopUp may offer paid options that allow users to use the App without advertisements. Available options may include:

Purchases are processed through Google Play and its applicable billing infrastructure. Ewiz Technologies does not directly receive or store your full payment card details through ScratchTopUp.

ScratchTopUp may receive purchase or entitlement information necessary to determine whether a user has a valid ad-free purchase and to provide the purchased functionality. Google Play handles payment information according to its own terms and privacy practices.

7. No User Account Required

ScratchTopUp does not require registration, login, a username, password, email address, or telephone number to use its core features. Ewiz Technologies does not maintain ScratchTopUp user accounts or user profiles.

8. Analytics and Crash Reporting

Ewiz Technologies does not intentionally integrate a separate analytics or crash-reporting service into ScratchTopUp for the purpose of collecting user information.

If analytics, crash reporting, attribution, advertising, or other third-party SDKs are added in a future version and change the App's data practices, this Privacy Policy and applicable Google Play disclosures will be reviewed and updated as required.

9. Third-Party Services

Google Play

Google Play provides application distribution and, where applicable, purchase and subscription services. Google may process information associated with application installations, purchases, subscriptions, and devices according to Google's policies.

Google AdMob

Google AdMob provides advertising services for the free version of ScratchTopUp. AdMob may process device, advertising, interaction, diagnostic, and related information as described in Google's documentation.

Mobile Network Operators

When a user initiates a USSD request, the request is handled through the user's mobile network. The relevant operator may process information associated with that transaction according to its own terms and privacy policy.

10. Data Sharing

Ewiz Technologies does not sell or rent users' personal information and does not operate a server-side database containing ScratchTopUp users' scratch-card history.

Information may nevertheless be processed by third-party services required for specific App features, including advertising and Google Play purchases. Such processing is governed by the applicable third party's terms and privacy practices.

11. Data Retention

Scratch-Card History

Scratch-card history remains locally on your device until you delete it, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App, subject to normal Android behavior and any independent copies or backups you have created.

Camera Images

ScratchTopUp does not intentionally retain camera images or selected scanning images on an Ewiz Technologies server.

Server-Side Data

Ewiz Technologies does not operate a ScratchTopUp backend database for storing user information, scratch-card history, or scanned images.

Third-Party Data

Information processed by Google AdMob, Google Play, or other third-party services is subject to the respective provider's retention practices and policies.

12. Data Deletion

You can delete your ScratchTopUp history using the deletion functionality within the App. Because ScratchTopUp does not maintain user accounts or a server-side database of user information, there is no ScratchTopUp account that needs to be deleted from our servers.

You may also remove ScratchTopUp and its associated application data using Android's application-management functionality.

Third-party services such as Google may retain information independently according to their own policies.

13. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to limit the collection and retention of information by ScratchTopUp. In particular:

No electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their Android devices, including device locks, software updates, and protection against unauthorized access.

14. Device Permissions

Camera

Camera access is required to scan physical airtime scratch cards. The camera is not intended for continuous monitoring or surveillance.

Photos and Media

Depending on the Android version and App implementation, ScratchTopUp may allow you to select an existing image from your device for scanning. The selected image is used for the requested scanning functionality.

Telephone / USSD

ScratchTopUp may use Android telephone/USSD functionality to prepare airtime top-up requests. Exact permissions and behavior may vary by Android version and device.

15. User Control

You remain in control of several aspects of the App's use:

16. Children's Privacy

ScratchTopUp is intended for general users and is not specifically directed toward children. The App does not intentionally request or collect children's names, contact details, account information, or other personal information.

Because ScratchTopUp uses third-party advertising services, age-related advertising and privacy requirements may apply to users of different ages. We do not knowingly use ScratchTopUp to directly collect personal information from children.

17. International Data Processing

Although ScratchTopUp supports Kenyan mobile network operators, certain third-party providers, including Google, may process information on servers located outside the country in which you reside.

Such processing is governed by the applicable third party's terms and privacy policies. Ewiz Technologies does not control the location of servers used by third-party services.

18. Third-Party Links and Services

ScratchTopUp may interact with or rely upon third-party services. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms. Ewiz Technologies is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, content, or policies of third-party services.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new App functionality, changes to third-party services, changes to advertising or payment services, changes in applicable laws or regulations, changes to Google Play requirements, or improvements to our privacy practices.

When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy. We encourage users to periodically review this page.

20. Privacy Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights concerning personal information processed by third-party service providers.

Because ScratchTopUp does not maintain user accounts or a server-side database containing users' personal information, requests concerning third-party advertising, payment, or platform data may need to be directed to the relevant provider.

For ScratchTopUp's locally stored history, users can delete the information directly through the App or remove the App and its local data from their device.

21. Google Play Data Safety

Ewiz Technologies will maintain the appropriate Google Play Data Safety disclosures for ScratchTopUp. These disclosures are intended to reflect the actual data practices of the current version of the App, including applicable practices of third-party SDKs.

If the App's data practices change, including through the addition of analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, attribution, or other SDKs, the relevant disclosures will be reviewed and updated as required.

22. Airtime and Mobile Network Disclaimer

ScratchTopUp is a convenience tool designed to assist users in entering and initiating airtime top-up USSD requests. Ewiz Technologies does not control the operation of Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom, or any other mobile network.

Ewiz Technologies is not responsible for:

Users should verify the detected scratch-card number before initiating a USSD request.
